Which Coin Should I Use?
Speed · Cost · Ease

Not sure which to pick? Here's how they compare:

Coin Speed Typical Fee Buy on
USDC on Solana★ Best for Beginners ~1 min <$0.01 Coinbase, Crypto.com
BTC via Lightning ⚡ Instant <$0.01 Strike, Cash App*
Litecoin (LTC) 2–5 min <$0.10 Coinbase, Kraken, Crypto.com
USDC on Polygon 2–5 min <$0.01 Coinbase, Kraken, Crypto.com
Bitcoin (on-chain) 10–30 min $1–$5 Strike, Coinbase, Kraken
💡 First timer? Go with USDC on Solana via Coinbase. It's the fastest, cheapest, and Coinbase makes buying USDC dead simple.

From Zero to Deposited — Step by Step
Using Coinbase + USDC on Solana (Recommended)
  1. Download Coinbase
From the App Store or Google Play. It's free.
  2. Create an account
You'll need to verify your identity — just a photo ID and a selfie. Takes about 5 minutes and is required by law for all crypto apps.
  3. Buy USDC
Tap "Buy" → search "USDC" → select USDC on Solana. Enter your amount (e.g. $50) and pay with your debit card. Funds appear in your Coinbase wallet instantly.
  4. Back on Fire Sweeps — create a deposit invoice
Go to Deposit → tap USDC · Solana → enter the same dollar amount → tap Create Invoice. A payment address and QR code will appear.
  5. Send from Coinbase
Tap Send → paste the Fire Sweeps address → confirm. Your balance will update within about 1 minute.
💡 Always send to the address freshly generated on the Deposit page. Crypto addresses expire — don't reuse old ones from a previous session.
Common Questions
FAQ
Why does it say I need to send the exact amount?
Unlike a credit card payment, blockchain transactions don't round or adjust. The system expects precisely the amount on the invoice. If you send $49.99 instead of $50.00, the payment processor may not match it automatically. Always copy the exact amount shown — don't type it manually.
My USDC sent but nothing arrived — what happened?
Most likely: wrong network. USDC exists on multiple blockchains that look identical but are completely separate. Fire Sweeps uses USDC on Solana and USDC on Polygon — not Ethereum mainnet. If you sent USDC via Ethereum, it went to a different network and we cannot receive it. Always double-check the network in Coinbase before sending — it will say "Solana" or "Polygon" next to the amount.
How long until my balance updates?
It depends on the coin:

USDC on Solana: ~1 minute
USDC on Polygon / LTC: 2–5 minutes
Bitcoin via Lightning ⚡: instant
Bitcoin on-chain: 10–30 minutes (longer during network congestion)

Your Fire Sweeps balance updates automatically when confirmed — no need to refresh.
Will I lose money to fees?
The blockchain network charges a small fee for every transaction (called a "network fee" or "gas fee"). With USDC on Solana or Lightning Bitcoin, this is less than a penny. Litecoin and Polygon fees are also very low. Only on-chain Bitcoin can have noticeable fees ($1–$5) during peak times. Fire Sweeps doesn't charge any additional deposit fees — what you send is what you receive.
Is it safe to buy crypto on Coinbase / Strike?
Yes. Coinbase is publicly listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange and regulated in the US. Strike is a licensed money transmitter. Kraken and Crypto.com are also fully regulated. These are mainstream financial companies — not obscure apps. Your crypto purchases are protected by their security infrastructure.
Do I need to verify my identity on these apps?
Yes — all regulated crypto apps require KYC (identity verification). You'll need a government-issued ID and usually a selfie. This is a legal requirement, not optional. It typically takes 5–10 minutes and is a one-time process. Once verified, buying and sending is instant.
My card got declined buying on Coinbase — why?
New Coinbase accounts have low instant-purchase limits (sometimes as low as $25). Try a bank transfer instead (arrives in 1–3 business days), or use Strike or Crypto.com which typically allow higher amounts on new accounts.
